WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE

I hadn't seen this movie in over 2 decades. When the opening credits began, I felt a deep since of sadness and darkness. I could say it was my sparse memory of the plot and the overall somber mood from the imagery.  I know it was something else. It wasn't until the movie truly began that I was able to identify the source of the sadness.  This being a "cult" film, I knew there would be some disappointments in plot continuity and special effects partially due to the "wholesome" expectations of the time.  Overall it wasn't too disappointing. The story itself is so compelling that no one really cared about the following: 1. How well folded and "pressed" that note looked after Blanche had crumpled it all to hell and threw it out a window when Jane returned it to her.  2. How Blanche had no idea that Jane was stealing money from her until she started serving her dead animals from around the house.  It could be that this plot hole is an artistic refer...

NARCISSIST TACTICS 2: THE DEATH MASK

Again, I am not formally educated or trained in psychology. I had many psychology major friends in college and have been independently studying psychology since middle school. That having been said, I believe I have identified another tactic that narcissists use: THE DEATH MASK.  Now to be clear, I am not referring to the emotional blackmail that aging narcissists and non-narcissists employ to get their way.  This goes beyond lower levels of manipulation. The childlike "will you miss me if I went away?" pales in comparison to this tactic.  I've noticed in the past 10 years especially that both dementia and autism are being used as a blanket diagnosis to explain away behaviors and mindsets can altered and changed.  I would just like to point out that just because the origins and mechanics of a somatic (brain chemistry and tissue integral) based mental illness cannot be explained, doesn't mean that all behavior of said afflicted person is excusable.  I woul...

NARCISSIST TACTICS: CLONING

I am no psychiatrist or psychologist.  Through my own research and some guidance from those who have studied in the field of psychology and specifically in the realm of personality disorders I have discovered a new flavor of gaslighting. Even the most recent acolyte embarking on the perilous journey of understanding and surviving narcissism is familiar with the term gaslighting.  The term comes from a movie called "Gaslight" released in 1944 in which a man seeks to drive his wife insane by creating a series of illusions.  As I was sitting at my desk today at work, hoping that time would take mercy on me, my mind wandered into the territory of the crazy interactions I have been wrestling with.  I've been trying to find a way to describe what is happening to myself in an attempt to understand why I am so angry and feel as though I am not safe.  I finally understand it now. I am being gas lit. But the way the person is doing it is not how I'm used to definin...

A PATH TO PEACE: MIND YOUR FUCKING BUSINESS

As I have said before, social media makes people believe that stalking is socially acceptable.  Things have even gotten so serious that hackers are employed to tap into people's microphones on their phones and their cameras.  And the people who engage in this activity somehow feel victimized by what they discover.  They are threatened by private conversations and private plans that don't involve them.  They become obsessed by discovered interests and judge the target by what they consume.  All while the people they really should be monitoring continue to plan and execute diabolical acts without intervention.  It is seldom the people who steal savings, inheritances and identities that are gang stalked and harassed.  It is usually an individual without power and consequence. It is usually a "nobody" that has the nerve to have a dissenting opinion.   ...And the cycle of divide, conquer and oppression continues.  Here are two tips for you ...

The Year of the Rat: AI

I saw a commercial last night that really disturbed me.  A young woman has company over her apartment. She took a break from a group discussion to consult an AI reference on what topics to discuss with her peers.  On the surface, it seemed like an innocent use of technology for someone who finds it hard to carry on conversation in a social setting.  ...but then I thought it about it. I really thought about it. And the more I thought about it the more disturbed I became.  We have AI writing shorty essays with no references in seconds. AI is automating responses that humans used to give. AI is now on the verge of giving diagnoses in hospitals.  I'm not saying technology isn't a good thing. But it is alarming to think that it will become a social norm to no even have to come up with an original thought or topic for a social gathering. I come from the last generation that had to actually read paper and hard back books. I worked in a library while I was in college. I...

YOU ARE NOT SUPERWOMAN!

You don't have a fucking cape and you can't fly.  You may be strong, but you can't be everything, everywhere, all at once.  If someone is making you feel as though you are in control of someone who is one or more of the following: mentally ill addicted to drugs chronically a dumbass financially irresponsible disabled and refusing to get professional help old and refusing to take accountability just a bitch Tell them to go fuck theirself.  And after that, continue to remain sober, keep exercising, make that new healthy recipe and take that course.  Self care pays off.  Trying to do the impossible without the autonomy, doesn't.
