 The first thing I found out about this "mental illness" is that it is not actually a codified mental illness. It is not in the DSM AT ALL. The second thing I found out is that it is a product of pop culture. At that point the validity of the label immediately came in to question.  Growing up Peter Pan was one of my favorite Disney movies. Which is why when "Hook" came out I instantly fell in love.  Now from what I remember Peter Pan was a pretty cool dude. Of course there was D.A.R.E in the 80s but that was really designed to teach children how to snitch on their parents and neighbors.   Can ghosts feel pain? They don't have bodies or a nervous system. Most of the time we can't see or hear them. So its not like we'd know. That's not what I am referring to though. I'm referring to pain that one can feel in a body part that is no longer connected to the body.  When I lived in New Orleans I met a woman who used to be a police officer. She got in a really bad car wreck and ended up losing an arm.  Her arm was amputated right above the elbow.  She would sometimes complain of feeling pain in her hand that she no longer had. I asked her how do you know its your hand that is hurting.  She said she just remembered what it was like to have pain in her hand.  She was on quite a few pills so I can't just use her as an example but in the medical community  phantom pain  is a very real thing.  It occurred to me that if the brain can convince you that a part of your body that no longer exists is in pain, then what is pain?   When asked why I don't have more friends, a boyfriend, etc I usually reply with something to the effect of : "Because most people are full of shit." Apparently I'm right. I can not enjoy my trash YOUTUBE videos in peace without back to back "How to shit videos." I am seldom constipated. I poop at least once a day every day. I looked it up thinking I was sick or had dumping syndrome or some shit. According to Dr. Google it is normal to poop only  3 times a week.  Word? So you eat everyday but only poop 3 out of every 7 days? Something don't seem right about that there.
