I could blame the pandemic but I noticed a difference BEFORE all this mess started.
I remember there used to be more sit down restaurants. Back in late 90s and early 2000s it was
actually a treat to get Chinese food.
None of it tastes the same. The Egg Foo young is soggy. The spare ribs are barely there. The fried rice is greasy and chock full of onions.
The only thing that still tastes good is the egg drop soup but you'd have to be a complete fool to fuck that up.
I fear we are entering a time where the sit down restaurant will become expensive again. Not because of corporate greed but because of the delivery take over.
I think I'm just going to make my own Chinese food. Jerk chicken fried rice sounds like the truth.
OO What about oxtail egg rolls? You can stuff them with the Caribbean style cabbage and some of that gravy baby!
