I know these past 3 years have been rough for everyone.
Sickness, Death, trauma of all kinds has affected so many people so quickly.
I can't imagine what it was like to lose a loved one and not even be able to say goodbye or have a funeral.
But that ain't no excuse for folks to be aggressively crazy.
Folks is losing it. I've seen more news reports of chain snatchings and smash and grabs than there were in the 80s. At least folks had somewhat of an excuse then. THEY WERE ON CRACK.
I'm going to say (write) this and y'all already know I give zero fucks.
Most of the people out here that are THAT desperate to commit crime including theft, murder, fraud, extortion, and what the fuck ever else....You did it to yourself.
Now, I'm not talking about single parents who suddenly had huge child care bills. Nor am I talking about the struggling family that was already living paycheck to paycheck. I am also not talking about the people who were already homeless and impoverished.
I am talking about the assholes who couldn't wait until the stores opened back up to stand in line at FOOT LOCKER. FUCKING FOOT LOCKER!
I went to Tanger Outlet in Deer Park to check out some sales and I had to weave through a wrapped around line of these fools.
You've been cooped up inside for two months and now you are standing outside for 2 hours for tennis shoes.
Yes I was there shopping too but if I saw a monster line I fucking left. The only things I bought were $1 pasta and vitamins.
My point is that even a few months of scarcity and financial hardship wasn't enough to curb some people's lust for status items. This is what got them in trouble in the first place.
I don't have an iPhone. I don't want an iPhone. I wear cheap shoes off the clearance rack and still get compliments. My thrift store outfits command attention. The finer things in life does not include brawling to the death over toilet paper at COSTCO because you are so pampered that you can't just wash you ass after you take a shit.
And folks killing their entire families. What the fuck is that about? Ok, you can't pay the bills. If you flip out over that to the point where you want to erase the one thing that you can't buy or replace you, must not have any friends that are struggling.
They could have given you tips on how to manage your finances.
During the pandemic I was able to feed myself and my boyfriend on $40 a week. I bought what was on sale and used the internet to find recipes to match what I bought. And we drank WATER.
And the suicides are bad too. I've lost almost all of my possessions and had the start over 3 times in my life. I cried, I raged but I stayed alive.
In the long run it was a blessing. It taught me to plan ahead and prioritize what I felt was important.
I'm not saying suicidal people are weak. But I am saying that the fall out from this pandemic is showing the world how unprepared many Americans are for the upsets in life.
The upper middle class has gotten too comfortable. Their credit scores went to their heads. Those car notes, family bundle phone bills, cable bills and what not tipped over their psyches.
And that's some crazy shit too. Financing a phone. I can see financing a car but a fucking phone?
If you have to make payments on the hardware for two years before you actually own it you can't afford it. PERIOD. Its not like you can ride that shit to work.
The amount of people that had to use food banks blew me away. People who owned businesses and land had to go to food banks.
First off who is managing the food in that house? Because before the pandemic as a single woman I was constantly buying non-perishables on sale and clearance and storing them for later. So when everything shut down I didn't have to join the grocery store hunger games.
I would think someone who owns a business would think further ahead than a loser like myself.
CRAZY.
I don't get my nails done. So when the pre-pandemic nail salon attacks on black women happened I had no personal stake in it really. Therefore I had no beef with the Asian community to have reason to use the pandemic to be woopin they ass.
CRAZY.
The virus might have come from Wuhan, China but the crazy was already here. Now there are more people out here with guns (not that is necessarily a bad thing). It was one of the few smart purchases many Americans made during the pandemic.
But the mass shootings though...Now we need more gun control. We need more age restrictions, less bullets, less fire power, better police, more metal detectors, see through book bags...
No we need less CRAZY. And no I don't mean more medication. We need better mental health care. Instead of bailing out the airlines...AGAIN. We should have been putting money into peer counseling and support groups and supplementing farmers.
Yes, supplementing farmers of produce. Proper nutrition is directly linked to less stress which affects cognition and helps to alleviate some of the crazy.
The young man who entered that school in ULVADE wasn't too young or too powerful. He was FUCKING CRAZY. He was crazy on the internet and crazy at the house in general. Nobody had much to say about it until he decided to start shooting folks.
No amount of gun control legislation will fix the American culture of overlooking mental health issues.
Personally I want to be able to purchase a weapon that can kill multiple people at once. There is a lot of racial tension in this country. And how soon we forget the era where no black man, woman or child was safe from the KU KLUX KLAN. This organization (and their subsets) despite of over a century of terrorizing communities based upon hate and white supremacy STILL HAS NOT been classified as a terrorist group.
So if theses assholes want to roll up on my family or community the way they tried to roll up on that pride rally I want to be able to lay they asses out. The police show up too late to lynchings based upon historical empirical data.
